Top shot: New Guinea

“The Asmat men appeared in 30 or 40 war canoes, stretched across the width of the river. They were decked out in incredible headgear and war paint – even the one- and two-year-old boys. They used their oars like drum sticks to beat on the canoes, and their cries echoed in the trees – loud, powerful war cries. They were messing with us, staring us down looking all fierce. Then they’d start giggling, especially the kids.”

Nice picture, I really like to see these traditional tribes in full ‘combat appearance’.
