That the Earth by nature is a temperate/ tropical planet and so I don't have to worry about this global warming nonsense as the climate is merely still recovering from the last ice age( with a little help too!).I am also thankful for all the scientists who have proved this over the years. I am thankful for the marine fossils in the US midwest as they demonstrate that the ocean levels are currently low. I am thankful for oil under arctic regions as that shows, since oil comes from ancient composted jungles, that the poles were once tropical.I am thankful for dinosaur fossils in north Dakota since reptiles don't produce body heat and could not have survived a single Plains winter. I am thankful for evolution which allowed the brown furred bears to turn white as their normal temperate climate became arctic. I suppose I should be thankfiul as well for the existence of albinoism which allowed some bears an advantage in a snowy environment and enabled those bears to breed out their brown fur and become "Polar bears". I am thankful that same evolutionary process will allow them to survive on terra firma as the un-natural ice melts and they become brown again. I am thankful for the mummified human found in the Alps underneath a receded glacier, proving that the glaciers are only a recent feature. And finally , I am thankful for the mountains of documentation we have access to which allows us the right to not believe anything we are told and then disprove those untruths.PS. Thanksgiving?Pilgrims to indians," Thanks for saving us ! This corn stuff is divine! Now we are going to slaughter you and steal your home." YOU ARE ON INDIAN LAND.

Henry David Thoreau and Edward Abbey. Two men who realized the value of the natural world and tried to tell everyone about it. Thoreau especially as he made acceptable the love of nature over the love of industry and money and what is deemed "success" He shares his wisdom with me every day, and I try to heed his words. If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen. In wilderness is the preservation of the world. Henry David Thoreau Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain. Never look back unless you are planning to go that way. Thank God men cannot fly, and lay waste the sky as well as the earth. The squirrel that you kill in jest, dies in earnest. Henry David Thoreau

I am grateful that my daughter decided on her own to become a member of WWF this year when asked what organization she would like to join. She is very concerned about saving the tigers and polar bears. I am so glad to raise her in a world where there are groups I can trust like WWF who show her how the world can change with the support of concerned citizens who will do the hard work to do what it takes to give our children a world to enjoy and protect. Thank you WWF!

This year, I am thankful that we may have finally reached a tipping point in the awareness of global warming and the need to protect our planet -- our air and water, our endangered habitats and wildlife, the natural systems and resources on which all of our lives depend. I am grateful for WWF and other environment/wildlife protection organizations, and for Al Gore and his message to the world, which together are educating people about these issues and inspiring individuals and governments to make changes that can make a difference.

One of my fondest memories is riding the bus one day after school on the way home from a trip to a (now defunct) game preserve near my hometown and clasping a WWF pocketwatch from my grandfather in my hand. to this day i don't think he understands the impact it made on me but from that point on i devoted myself to caring for and protecting the animals that are inherently under our watch and have always wondered what i could do to help God's purest creation and i am grateful to WWF and its other members for helping all animals and suporting the cause of animals and proving that they are a worthy cause and deserving inhabitants of the earth!!

I am very thankful that the State of Kansas took the step of rejecting coal refineries. I recently took a trip to British Columbia where I saw dead trees due to the pine bark beetle. The beetle isn't new to that area. It's just killing more trees because winters are milder and many more of the beetles survive. People there told us that it is feared that, should the beetle not be stopped, the evergreen forests of all of N. America could be gone in 10 years. Thank you so much, Kansans.

So many things! My 9 yr.old daughter and I just moved to a 9 & 3/4 acre farm which I have designated a wildlife sancuary. We have 13 cats,4 dogs,1 cockateil(all rescues) and just got 2 horses! Thank God for my critters;past and present, they taught me unconditional love. I intend to get my DNR license to rehabilitate injured wildlife. This is my dream of a lifetime and I am so very grateful. I am also thankful to be a member of not only WWF but The Humane Society of the Hunited States, the Sierra Club, the ASPCA, the Humane Society of Douglasville and many other groups to save God's creatures and planet. I am blessed to have my wonderful daughter Desiree who loves animals and Mother Earth as much as I do. I am proud and thankful to have men and women who are willing to put their lives on the line;past and present, for my daughter and I so we can be free. I am thankful for my Mom who is always there for me no matter what. I am grateful to have food on my table, clothes on my back, medicine when needed, school for Desiree, and a house to live in; the basic necessities and oh so much more. God has blessed me with great abundance and I am so very thankful. Having this beautiful planet and wonderful creatures is a great blessing. When we moved here, I found we had several bluebirds in residence. I had never seen any! I have many birds of prey flying overhead and have seen deer tracks. I am thankful to all the organizations I belong to because as one; our voices will be heard to protect God's gift of this incredible planet and her creatures. I thank you. And so does Desiree. Many Blessings.

I am thankful for the beauty of God's creation as is manifest in nature and the creatures of nature. I am grateful that we have protected wildnerness areas and animal preserves to remind us of the stewardship efforts that have been accomplished and of the need to continue forward in this direction. I am also grateful for the literary works of conservationist authors like John Muir who have captured the beauty of nature in word to share with the world.

I am thankful for organizations such as the WWF that continually strive for longevity in the animal species. If it were not for dedicated organizations and groups that are willing to fight for those that cannot speak, we would have lost ourselves long ago and put into extinction the many living creatures that have helped shape and make this planet habitable for us all. Without the WWF to protect them, I do not think that we would know how important it is to co-exist and find a peaceful way to live together with the wild. Many thanks to the WWF and I will continue to support and spread news about this work.

At a time when I have felt very despairing over the oil spill disasters and the effect on migrating birds, ducks, geese, swans and others I am heartenened to be reminded of how grateful I am for the wonderful work you are doing all over the globe for wildlife. I am also thankful for the amazing work of the dedicated team at Operation Migration who are bringing back an Eastern Flock of whooping cranes by teaching a migratory route between Wisconsin and Florida using robo crane parents(people dressed in white) to lead them behind ultra light planes. And locally I am thankful to be an active member of Maine Audubon, the Bangor Land Trust and an enviornmental action group with people who work hard in different ways to protect habitat, teach children about the natural world and promote conservation. Thank you for reminding me to be thankful for everyone who cares passionately about our Earth and the creatures we share it with.

I am thankful for the conservation accomplishments in 2007. For ALL of the organizations that work so hard to protect our animals & forests, create wildlife parks & educate around the world that preservation of the above is everything. I am especially thankful for those that volunteer for these projects/orgs.

I am thankful that there are people who are capable of doing this work. There are times I cannot bear to even look at pictures of the atrocities that take place against wildlife. I am thankful there are people courageous enough to face this head on. I only wish I had that strength but to see an animal struggling is the most painful thing in the world for me. I am thankful people never give up.

I am so thankful for organizations such as WWF, the Sierra Club, The Ocean Conservancy, and Turtle Survival Alliance, who all do the work I wish I could be doing. Knowing these and other great organizations are fighting for God's other creatures keeps me from utter despair. Thank you all.

I have just become a permanent resident of Gt. Barrington and have met some like-minded people who share my love of our surroundings. We are working together to preserve and protect the wetlands in our valley from over-development. I am grateful to be able to work with committed neighbors who care so deeply. I am also grateful that my husband and I are in a position to designate some of our property as conserved land not to be developed. I am also thankful for the wild things that pass by our window.

May we all be thankful of this Earth. May we all be fortunate enough to have a happily blessed festive season; and may we give thought of hope and prosperity to all the people of the world. Thanks be unto all of us for every effort in the rehabilitation and protection of natural living heritage; to conserve and ensure the survival of all species and so the revival of those diminished to mere numbers. Thank you to all the people of Africa. Those working to fulfill Nepad’s millennium goals; Fifa for their unprecedented support to African Football players; their support to a first African hosted FIFA World Cup. To all the African leaders willing to cooperate with insight, ensuring a brighter future for all Africa people. Although we may not be rich; our lives will become enriched. Thanks be unto those of us working on an international stage; the World Wildlife Foundation; African Wildlife Foundation; National Geographic; the Congolese Conservation Institute ICCN; Rainforest Foundation; the Rangers; African Conservation Taskforce; Suena Sanctuary; Volunteers of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund; Gorilla Veterinary Project?; Jane Goodall; Lola Ya Bonobo; Claudine Andre; Vanessa Woods; and all those others; there are so many; missionaries across equatorial Africa attempting to curb the destructive nature of our own species. Thank to travelers like Jason Wheeler; Keri Lorimer; and many others ensuring that those people receive the equipment they need; so much is still needed, but however meager it tilts the scale, every effort is well done. May all wars come to an end. May each of us plant a Bamboo shoot in a pot this season to counter Global Warming and Deforestation. I am thankful for my life. Merry Christmas

- Iroquois Thanksgiving Ritual We hope that you find this indigenous nativity ritual inspiring and spirit filled as we do. "Kanienkehaka" "Oneowe" "Many thanks" to the WWF. [ Now we will speak again about Him, Our Creator. He had decided , "The world I have created... And I continue to look and listen intently to the earth, when its people look and listen intently at me." There will be gratitude, day and night for the happiness he gives us. He who is in everything, loves us. He gives us the means to set right that which divides us.]

I am enjoying in retirement many of the country's glories--Grand Canyon, Escalante National Monument, Zion, Bryce, Tetons, Yellowstone--and am thrilled that these amazing places have been set aside for my enjoyment and that of millions of others. Part of the enjoyment of them for me is the birds which offer another way of living life to its fullest. The world is a wonderful place and I am so grateful for all of WWF's efforts to keep it so. C. I am thankful that, finally, there appears to be a few resource-conscious institutions willing to publicly state that continuing exponential growth in our human population is THE main source of environmental deterioration, including climate change. I'm thankful that people are beginning to acknowledge the need for environmental-management approaches that will require alternatives to the concept of "growth-ism" as we traditionally know it. I'm thankful that THERE IS HOPE for a collective awareness that, unless human species numbers are reduced, ALL efforts to curb global warming and its compounding devasting effects, WILL ultimately fail ... simply because the earth has limited amounts of resources (regardless of how much we "re-use, recycle and reduce", per individual).

I am truly grateful for the power of modern technology that enables organisations like the WWF to pull together the campaigning energy of so many people and focus it on campaigns to preserve the natural world that we all depend on for our continued existence on this earth. I feel that I have been enabled in a way that would not have been possible before the arrival of e-mail and the World Wide Web.

I am thankful WWF has educated people on and increased the awareness of conservation issues across the globe. It is because of you, my sons have taken a huge interest in the protection of many animals, particularly tigers. Adopting the animals and charting WWF's progress has helped them to learn to be better stewards of this world. Thank you WWF.

I'm thankful for the opportunity to share my breakfast with a downey woodpecker this summer. There was a dead tree next to my deck till recently (when I got chopped down). I had breakfast on my deck nearly every morning this summer and, almost every day, I'd watch a downey woodpecker whack away at the tree, munching on the bugs under the bark. Although the woodpecker didn't pay me much mind, I certainly enjoyed his or her company.
