Educational dialogue is taking place between Senate staffers and college campuses all over the U.S. The goal is to engage young people in conversation with federal decision makers on important climate and energy policy changes shaping the future (These are not lobbying calls).
According to The Bard Center for Environmental Policy’s website, “calls start off with a "briefing" by a student from the state talking about interest and engagement in climate issues, and then the audience hears from the staffers about the senator's position and concerns. We take questions in advance via e‐mail, and the student team asks those questions.”
The Bard Center for Environmental Policy in partnership with The National Teach-In On Global Warming Solutions is handling all the logistics for setting up and managing the calls. The group needs volunteers for convening calls in their state and involving students, faculty and staff.
